My original plan was to use the film took in Minakami town as a scene to be integrated in my unfinished film entitled “A Kabuki Gidayu Reciter -- KIYOTAYU TAKEMOTO”. However, after the two-day filming, a strong inspiration came upon me, saying that the Minakami Kabuki should be taken as a complete film.
It is true that the film “Konnichiwa Kabuki” was produced with limited equipment and materials. However, now that KIYOTAYU’s visit in local areas was such a rare occurrence, and now that the film was such a valuable image, I determined that the film should be released to public.
